To further encourage everyone to resist creatures designed for their level
To further encourage everyone to resist creatures designed for their level, we're removing the Combat XP for fighting creatures over 30 levels under you. Since we don't have any top-end training animals in the game (yet), players with a RS gold very high Combat level will discover that this 30 level range climbed to 50 - at least until we release a few bigger training dungeons! You will still be able to train on animals which are much less powerful than you, however training on things like rock cows and goats will only be effective at lower levels - as it should be. We will be incorporating faster and more varied spawn points all around the game to manage the shift.
In PvP, changes are much more obvious: with the battle triangle reworked and rebalanced; a massive number of abilities to use; tactical decisions on when to utilize them; the Defence skill strengthened with heals, deflects and other cool features; and much more life points to prevent instadeaths. . It is about real art and actual tactics, and I am sure that our PVP community is going to have great time controlling it, and discovering new ways to use it that we hadn't even thought about.
Be brave, but be traditional -- We've got a fantastic match, and a great bunch of people who play it. In reality, were getting near 200 million accounts being made! That is a huge number and while we want to generate an exciting, intriguing new Combat encounter - we don't wish to flip RuneScape into something that's unrecognisable for everyone.
Primarily, the new battle abilities are a development of the older special attack system. The main difference is that you now have a range of Basic attacks that will help generate the adrenaline needed to utilize stronger skills, instead of simply waiting to get a special attack bar to refill over time. While you'll kill fast in the event that you use the new mechanics, you will still collect adrenaline - and, consequently, have access to Threshold and Ultimate skills - if you would like to sit back and auto-attack just as before.
You don't need to specialise in RuneScape
Likewise, despite the action bar being a big part of RuneScape later on, we are not forcing anyone to interact with it. If you want to keep interacting with RuneScape because you did before, you can, and you will not be penalised or handicapped by doing this -- indeed, it is going to be possible to reevaluate the action bar if you want to cheap RuneScape gold maintain your UI clean.
