Web design and development

An important way to ensure that search engines have easy and effective access to your entire site is with a sitemap. A sitemap that lists each site component and includes individual links to all of them - allows automated search engines to reach each page of your site in no more than two clicks.

When publishing articles on other websites, publish them on your website first. Leave it for a few days to make sure the search engines index, and then publish it elsewhere. This will tell the spiders that your site is the originator of the content and that other sites are just posting it, giving you the most link credits.

Search Engine Optimization intuitively recognizes the value of social networking sites and puts that value into play using these networks to attract more people to your website. Controversial and even shocking title tags almost never fail on social media!

To drive traffic to your site using search engines, you need to be sure that you are connecting with yourself in a smart way. When linking between pages, make sure to use certain keywords or phrases. For example, use "Used Cars Contact" instead of just "Contact" as it is more specific.

UI/UX Design

Regularly check your site for broken links or images. If you have a page with links pointing to non-existent content, it likely will never be indexed by search engines. Search engines have been known to hug sites with too many broken links. Make sure this does not happen to you by performing routine maintenance on the site.

Do not use duplicate keywords when trying to implement SEO. For example, having Playstation and Sony Playstation as tags is useless as the more descriptive one will make the other unused. Another reason is that the bots don't flag your site as spam.

Use flash, frames, and AJAX as rarely as possible. These can make a website appear cool and splashy, but for SEO they don't do much. They cannot link to a single page, and search engine spiders will not crawl them like "regular" web pages; your beautiful website will linger in the rankings.

Keep your site fresh by adding fresh content regularly. Remember that your website is not static like a print ad. You need to keep adding new knowledge and information that will benefit your visitors and make them feel there is always something new to learn when visiting your site.

Try to avoid using superlatives in your title tag as they don't do anything to optimize search engine ranking. While it may seem catchy for a website visitor, search engines do not pay attention to superlatives and you don't gain any advantage from using them.

The tips given here should be used as a checklist for things you can fix on your own website. Use this information to make improvements to your website.
