entire power cycle process of your network might help. For power cycling your
home network, you must switch off all of your networking devices and then switch
them back on. Networking devices cover PCs, mobile gadgets, routers, cable

modems, tablets, printers, gaming consoles, smart home devices, VOIP phones,
and Wi-Fi cameras.
Follow these steps to power cycle your home network if you use a cable modem
with a NETGEAR router:
1. Switch off or shut down all the devices connected to your router’s network.
Ponder: Wait for 2 minutes before switching on your cable modem again.
Note: Some models come equipped with a backup battery. If your modem
owns one, you must eliminate the backup battery for completely switching off
your modem.
2. After around 2 minutes, switch on your cable or DSL modem first and let it
boot up.
Wait for about 5 minutes while your modem develops a connection with your
Internet Service Provider (ISP). It might take more than 5 minutes relying on
your cable or DSL modem. In maximum cases, all the LED lights on your
cable modem stay stable after your device builds a connection with your ISP.
Consider: Skip Step 3 and move to Step 4 if you possess a modem router.
3. When your cable or DSL modem builds a connection with your ISP, turn on
your Netgear router.
Your router develops an association with your modem. It might need a few
minutes. In maximum cases, the Internet LED on your router blinks sharp
white (green in older routers) when a connection gets established.
Refer to the user manual of your Netgear router to verify the status of the
Internet LED.
