To fix laptop plugged in not charging hp

Unplug the AC power cable from the device, 

Then remove the battery.

Plug the AC power cable back into the notebook and turn it on.

If the System powers is on, the problem is with the battery.

If the AC adapter connection to the computer is loose, the connector might be damaged and require repair.
